Renaissance Woman, Rihanna, starred in the last of the Versailles series. She drew the cameras into the palace and grounds by night. Set to the star’s own new single “Only If For a Night,” made for an unforgettable finale infusing history and fashion into the pop cultural moment. In addition to introducing an ultra-glamorous icon to Dior marketing, the star’s own following made for exponential exposure.

Among the most successful ‘fashion films,’ “The Secret Garden” debuted 25 million viewers overnight, worldwide. At the time, all other luxury brands were still shy of the power of social media. Each episode was filmed to the soundtrack by Depeche Mode, in la Galerie des Glaces & les Jardins de Versailles, thereby creating a theme where past and present, art and fashion met. Viewers experienced the unheard-of luxury of having the most beautiful palace ever built all to oneself.
